What Our Top Dog Says About The Easy Walk Dog Harness:

The PetSafe Easy Walk Dog Harness provides a more comfortable fit for your dog. Since the leash attachment point is at the front of the harness, you will not have to worry about your dog’s neck being injured or their windpipe crushed when they pull. The front placement also redirects the dog towards the person walking with them when they pull, making it a great item for aggressive dogs or heavy pullers. The chest loop closure stops pesky gapping so the harness will not shift on your dog during use, further improving the comfort level.

Quick snap buckles placed on the shoulder and belly straps make it easy to take the harness on and off. The heavy duty nylon material is hand washable and made in the USA to provide the highest quality. Get the PetSafe Easy Walk Dog Harness today!

Top Dog Tips & Advice About The PetSafe Easy Walk Dog Harness:

The Easy Walk Harness is designed to gently discourage your dog from pulling while walking on a leash.
If your dog forges ahead of you, gently pull the leash to the side to turn the dog toward you. As he stops pulling, be sure to release the tension on the leash. Use praise and reward your dog with treats and/or petting. To slow your dog when he is pulling ahead, apply gentle pressure to the leash, pulling gently toward one side of the dog. Release the pressure on the leash when the dog is walking nicely next to you.
We don’t recommend using the Easy Walk Harness with a retractable leash. With a retractable leash, the dog is “rewarded” with additional leash when he pulls ahead. We want the dog to learn to NOT pull ahead. In addition, a retractable leash will always apply a slight constant pressure, teaching your dog it is okay to continue pulling.

Helpful hint on preventing chaffing:

Short-haired dogs can be susceptible to chaffing when wearing a harness. To prevent this, make sure that you use the Easy Walk Harness as instructed and be careful to fit the harness so that the girth strap does not lie in the dog's "armpits".

Fit Tips

Tips to help get the most out of your Easy Walk Harness: Adjust the harness following the instructions found by clicking here. There's also a fitting video here. The girth strap should be fairly tight (room for one finger) while the chest strap should fall naturally in the correct position and does not need to be tight. A common mistake is to tighten the chest strap too much which pulls the girth straps towards the dog's armpits. Make sure that the chest strap is perpendicular to the belly/back strap and that the chest strap meets the belly/back strap in the middle of the dog's body. The belly/back strap should be fairly straight up and down.
  • Attach your leash to BOTH the chest ring of the harness AND the leash ring of a regular collar. This will help to keep the harness in place and also will prevent escape.
  • Don't allow your dog to pull into the harness. When he/she pulls, stop walking or change direction. When she walks beside you feed her a small treat.
  • If these tips don't help, you may either have the wrong size, or one of the few dogs who do not respond to the EWH. You can return your harness and you may want to consider the a head halter for strong dogs who do not respond to the EWH.

Question & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • can I use this type harness with two dogs on a double tangle free lead?

The Easy Walk Harness has two attachment points; one on the front of the harness and one on the top of the harness.
If you walk your dog's using the front clip, the dogs will be walking behind you.  it would be best to attach the leashes to the top of the harness when walking them together.
