Dog Harness

The importance of a solid, sturdy, and reliable harness for your dog simply cannot be emphasized enough. A well-constructed dog harness will be easy to put on. It will most likely use a series of convenient buckles. Generally, all that is required to put the harness on is to have your dog step into the harness, after which you can pull the harness up around the legs, over the chest and fasten the buckle around the back and underneath the dog’s legs.

There are differences between a car harness and a walking harness. For starters, a walking harness is designed to keep your dog from pulling against your leash while you are walking them. If your dog pulls, lunges at other dogs, and tires themselves out by fighting against their leash, then this is the kind of harness we recommend.

The best examples of a walking harness will work in tandem with your existing collar, and will have a no-pull leash attachment that will train your dog to quit pulling altogether over time. Only using a leash with a dog like this will put too much stress on your dog’s neck and could injure them.

On the other hand, a car harness is an entirely different thing. A car harness is usually crash tested and attaches to your car’s seat belts to make sure your dog is protected in the event of an unexpected crash. A car harness will safely distribute harmful gravitational forces that are exerted on your dog’s body in the case of a wreck. Keeping your dog safely in their seat with a car harness will not only protect their neck, but it will also prevent your dog’s spine by stopping your dog from whipping around the car if you collide with another vehicle.
