The best way to measure for your dog boots is to have your dog stand on a piece of paper and draw around his paw. Then measure the width at its widest point. Choose the closes paw size from the chart.
The boots are a wrap around style to get a tight fit without cutting off circulation and the height typically lands right below the dew claw.
Though I used the measurement guide to determine the correct size, the boot was too small and fell off each time our dog took her first step. Bella was diagnosed with cancer and one of her “toes” was amputated. I was very disappointed the boot dig not work. It was important for Bella to have proper protection so her paw would not become infected. Bella figured out how to remove the surgical boot 2 weeks post surgery. Unfortunately, her paw did become infected. Pros; high quality product and very easy to put on. Cons; too small, did not go up to right below dew claw, fell off w 1st step. PS. I also ordered the Healers Wound Boot and it was too small. Size Up!
Very well made boots. We just have to figure out a way to keep them on her lol. We must be doing something wrong. She doesn’t really mind them being on, but Havanese are pretty easy going.
Our little dog has smaller feet than the Xsmall size would fit. My biggest surprise was that there was only two of them. For about $30.00 I just thought that it was understood that four shoes was appropriate as dogs have four feet. The shoes easily slipped off. Live and learn. I did. This product may be great for some dogs just not ours.
Boo always gets bruises on his paws, so I tried these boots. It's been 2 weeks now, he never gets bruises every time we go for a short hike and use these boots.
