Top Dog Tips & Advice About The Dog Leg Wraps
The dog leggings won't stop the licking but they will protect the wounds. We suggest you try the bitter apple spray - put it on the garment first, let it dry a bit, then put it on your dog. That way they will have a bad taste associated with the garment- not the spray.
The leg wraps can be worn outside. They are not intended to be a wound care garment. As always, consult your vet and as with all wound dressings, take it off after several hours to let the wound heal.

Q- My dog leggings seem to have stretched out
A-H-Leggings will stretch over time and with regular washing should return to their original size. We like to call this the ‘favorite shirt syndrome’ – once you see how well H-Leggings work, they never take them off. If this is your case, may we suggest a second pair?
Q-Are the dog leggings adjustable?
A-H-Leggings utilize a specialized custom made fabric designed to stretch and conform to your dogs legs. H-Leggings are sized as noted to accommodate a variety of height and weight combinations - and just like with people clothing will seldom fit exactly. Our customers have used no-stitch hem tape and even knots to adjust the length if needed. Remember H-leggings are a short-term aid to help Fido heal.
Q-Will they keep my dog warm?
A- Dog leggings are primarily a protective garment designed to protect casts and stop itching, they are lightweight material and not designed for warmth
Q-Can dog leggings be used directly on open wounds?
A-H-Leggings are not intended to be used as a medical product nor are H-Leggings a substitute for proper wound dressings. H-Leggings can be used as a covering over proper, veterinary approved, wound dressings and casts.
Question & Answers
Have a Question?
My Boston Terrier constantly licks her front legs. Can these be worn 24/7?
The dog leg wraps will cover and protect the leg. We recommend dabbing bitter apple on the leggings before putting the wraps on so your dog associates the bad taste with the leg wraps, not the garment. Also, try giving your dog a treat ball filled with treats to distract him and keep him entertained after putting the dog leg wraps on him. Your vet is the best person to help stop the licking behavior.

I got the dog wraps prior to actually needing them for my dog.
They appear to be a good idea.
I bought them in case I have a need for them at some point.
We have an old dog who rubs her elbows raw to the point that they bleed, so we tried these leg wraps. They work well and seem to be fairly comfortable. Previously we had tried wrapping them in all sorts of ways with no success. We also tried a "rehab elbow protector" held on with Velcro and it did not work worth spit. These wraps do work pretty well, and the only problem is that they need some way to cinch them up securely as they ride down after a while.
Great, the leggings went on easily and our Border Collie isn't going crazy trying to get them off. He still licks at the spots, but no where near as much and the leggings keep him from getting to the spots. The murphy Family
Fast delivery and well made. My dog is 140 pounds so I ordered the large. He could have worn the medium. The part that goes over his head was too large so I have it tied in a knot to make it tight. Cuffed the legs so he didn't step on them lol. But although the size was big, it is keeping his elbows covered when he's outside so the gnats aren't attacking his raw skin. He doesn't mind wearing them at all. All I tell him is "Let Momma put your leggings on" and he sits right there and lets me dress him. He' a big baby bear!
These worked out ok to cover and support a bandage on the elbow. After a couple of days they are preventing the bandage from slipping down, a problem without the leggings. One short coming, the Velcro webbing for closing the lower part of the legging is too short. As a result a long unsecured tab hangs out. The lower opening could be smaller for my 80 lb German shepherd.
